A vintage piano accordion in a striking red pearloid finish, branded Frisco on the grille. Likely dating from the 1950s or 60s, it has the look of an instrument made for stage or parlour, with a celluloid-covered body, metal grille and reeds, and keys in bone or plastic. Country of origin is unconfirmed, though instruments of this type are often traced to Italy or Eastern Europe. The bellows show the leather and card construction typical of the period, and the shoulder strap survives, though its leather has cracked with age. Condition is honest rather than polished: the pearloid finish carries surface scratches and marks consistent with decades of storage and use, the metal grille strips show some tarnishing, and there is general dust and grime to be expected of a piece this age.
