A single-strand faux pearl necklace by Pompadour Pearls, still in its original box marked "Pearls for a Princess", with the accompanying Elizabethan Pearls care card tucked inside. Likely dating from the 1950s or 1960s, it is a charming piece of costume jewellery rather than natural or cultured pearl, with cream/ivory beads on a clasp in what appears to be silver-tone or white metal. The appeal here lies as much in the packaging as the pearls themselves — the branded box and printed care card are lovely period ephemera that rarely survive together in this condition. Likely made in the UK, this is the kind of set that collectors of vintage costume jewellery or original boxes tend to seek out. Condition is fair to good for its age. The necklace itself is intact with a functioning clasp.
